Last week's postponed meeting will take place tonight in BAR Pizza at 6.30pm. Street parking may still be difficult downtown, so you might need to allow extra time to find a spot.
I can't make it on Monday, but wanted to let you know that we have been asked by Middlesex Habitat for Humanity to provide drawings for a new house in the north end of Middletown, CT. Please let me know if this is a project we should accept and if so if you are interested in helping. They hope to begin construction in the spring of 2013.
It is the season for voting and that applies to our chapter as well. Not only will there be a vote on the by-laws on Monday but there will also be vote to elect the chapter's first board. All full members attending the meeting can vote, so please sign up on line and come to the meeting. Nominations are as follows:
Secretary - Andrew Jackson
Projects Coordinator -John Sepples
Treasurer - Geoff Lawson
Executive Director - Patrick McKenna
Additional nominations will be accepted prior to elections during the November meeting.
We have developed Chapter Bylaws from the AFH standard over the last few months. We will be voting on Monday at the November meeting to approve these bylaws preceding the election. Please review the Google Doc (link below) and make any comments so that we can discuss before the vote.
I was trained last year to be a Safety Assessment Program (SAP) Evaluator and I am currently registered with Cal EMA. While I do not have hands-on experience, I would like to help out as needed.
I am a California licensed architect with over 25 years of experience in design and construction management and have worked on residential as well as commercial facilities.
If you haven't had a chance to include your suggestion for the AFH New Haven Mission Statement, please take a moment to do so. Please feel draw from the examples provided or even those that have already been posted.
Note: The deadline has been extended to August 3rd.
